The Uniform Project.

Sheena is the cutest little web-designer, creative awesome-ness, and one of my favorite Old Hollywood ladies. She recently told me about this project she is doing called
where she wears and photographs herself in the same dress for an entire year while raising money for the Akanksha Foundation, a grassroots movement that is revolutionizing education in India. At the end of the year, all contributions will go to Akanksha School Project to help fund uniforms and other educational expenses for slum children in India.
Sheena has made 7 (one for each day of the week) identical dresses that she adorns with accessories, mainly vintage, handmade, or hand-me-down as an exercise in sustainable fashion.

"Think of it as wearing a daily uniform with enough creative license to make it look like I just crawled out of the Marquis de Sade's boudoir."

Old Hollywood is a proud supporter and donator to The Uniform Project and would like to encourage you to do the same. And if you can't donate, maybe you have some awesome little gem that Sheena could rock? If not, just check in often to see how creative and fashionable this little lady is.
It's important for all of us to remember that buying new clothes isn't always necessary.
Sometimes all you need are some new accessories to spice up your rack of fabrics.
So, if you are feeling inspired, we have a TON of accessories in the store, and lots of eco-friendly sweatshop free vintage clothing.
