I want to ride my bicycle...

Bicycle races are coming your way
So forget all your duties oh yeah!
Fat bottomed girls they'll be riding today
So look out for those beauties oh yeah
On your marks get set go

(man I love Queen)

So today Kate and I are going bike shopping. Geronimo (my vintage beauty) got lifted a few weeks back from out front of the shop. I stopped in B's Bikes the other day, the only bike really striking me was WAY out of my price range. I have for weeks now been walking past the most beautiful eco trek (above) and am going to try it out tomorrow.
I like the idea of having a basket in the front and cargo in the back so I can haul things from store to store. I am a little worried though that it will be really heavy.
I will let you know.Check out trek's entire eco line, they are great homages to mid-century french porteur bikes.
(and of course riding a bike is ECO, but they went deeper than that. They not only found the most recyclable parts for the bike, but they even did things like sourced close to their manufacturer to eliminate fuel use.
I'm also loving this leather "saddle" bag they have over at Public for $250.
Probably gonna find a nice vintage saddle bag.
(wouldn't mind finding an old porteur bike.)
so our first stop will be at that vintage bike shop on Lorimer, by the BQE...not sure the name.
Look at this one:
