The Js Go Bananas!

BFFs/roomies/generally awesome guys Jamie Barton and Jlamar Wright have style that will stop you in the street. In fact, they literally stopped traffic during their recent photo shoot for the one year anniversary of their queer dance party, Bananas.

Queer or not, if you love to dance, this is the party for you. With DJ Haruka Salt 666 on the turntables, you'll find yourself up on the bar booty-shaking to everything with a beat that's good, from 90s hip-hop to Afrobeat.

The party happens this Thursday (and the 3rd Thursday of every month) at my favorite bar, Sweet Revenge. In between dancing fits, you can enjoy their great selection of booze, from Bison Grass Vodka to American Honey Whiskey. And when you get hot, take those drinks right outside to the enormous backyard, complete with bamboo bar and sand (and not in that corny tiki bar kind of way).

348 Franklin Ave, between Lexington and Green, in Bed-Stuy - only a few stops on the G from Greenpoint (2 blocks from the Classon stop), or a 25 minute bike ride straight down Kent (and back up Bedford).

The Js also sell their stylish vintage every Sunday at Sweet Revnenge, from 4 until drunk. But if you can't make it to Bed-Stuy, don't worry - they set up every Saturday at Greenpoint's Matchless (Manhattan & Driggs). Flyer from last week's event:
