SummerScreen Starts Wednesday!

Summer Screen
just sent me a friendly reminder that the movies start this Wednesday July 9th!

Over the last five summers, SummerScreen has lured thousands of Brooklynites out of their stuffy apartments with the promise of cold beer and classic movies under the stars. This year, we return to the McCarren Park Ballfields with a nod to our adolescent idols and crushes: Cusack, Bowie, Danes, Depp, Richards and Reeves.
We're kicking off the series on Wednesday, July 7 with Say Anything, the classic tale of a young Seattle resident who has an unhealthy addiction to khaki trenchcoats and Peter Gabriel songs.
Come hungry, as there will be treats both big and small served by the taco slingers at San Loco, weiner conossouers at Asia Dog, frozen fruit purveyors at People's Pops, deities of grilled cheese at Milk Truck, caffeine kings at Crop to Cup Coffee and the gurus of mozerella at Pizza Moto.
In addition to great food, music, and a free movie viewing at SummerScreen, Fandango will also be offering an amazing VIP contest that will give L readers the chance at a metric ton of free stuff and cool prizes. Also, don’t forget to check the Summer Screen Facebook page for updates and other things that Facebook does.
Once again, SummerScreen begins on Wednesday, July 7 with a free screening of Say Anything at the McCarren Park Ballfields (corner of Bedford and North 12th). Gates open at 6pm, films start at dusk. Get there early to enjoy Happy Hour specials and live music.
Directions:
The McCarren Park ball field is located in Williamsburg at the corner of Bedford and North 12th.
Take the G train to Nassau or the L train to Bedford.

Sorry, no dogs allowed at the event space.
