Brunch = Success

Cooking is one of my least favorite things to do, I'm no good and I don't have the patience for it. I really am a hopeless cause for domestication. So when good old Shae - chef extraordinaire that he is - saw the recipe I posted for Amaretto Baked French Toast, he offered to whip it up for breakfast with his own spin to it. Score one for me!

I went over to his and Tiff's place before work last Friday, the sweet aroma of candied walnuts, juicy bacon grease and fresh bread greeting my nose at the door. Shae replaced the brioche bread with Challot bread and good lord, was it good. And to top it off, he served it with freshly sliced strawberries, powdered sugar and warm maple syrup. Mmm, my mouth is drooling just thinking about it.

And as a bonus, we had a side of potato pancakes. Devouring this savory breakfast with good friends was the perfect way to start my day! I might have to make it my new Friday morning tradition. You hear me Shae and Tiff?
