Broski Bits: Oh Baby I Like it Raw

Is there anything more essential to a dude's wardrobe than a good pair of worn in jeans? Probably (see:underwear), however they're definitely high on any bro's priority list. I've been swearing by Levi's for years myself, but there's an even more noteworthy variety of jean out there: raw denim. No, it's not a brand. For those of you who may not know what exactly raw denim is, let's take a look at Wikipedia for a moment.

"Dry or raw denim, as opposed to washed denim, is a denim fabric that is not washed after being dyed during its production. ....Much of the appeal of factory distressed denim is that it looks similar to dry denim that has, with time, faded. With dry denim, however, such fading is affected by the body of the person who wears the jeans and the activities of his daily life. This creates what many enthusiasts feel to be a more natural, unique look than distressed denim."
The thing is, it's true. Going with raw denim, albeit a little more pricey, ensures that you end up with a crucial pair of jeans that are geared specifically towards your lifestyle.  Don't believe me? Cue the case study. This guy wore Naked & Famous raw denim for 9 months straight. Here's what his jeans looked like when he first got them.

And here's what they look like after 9 months of wear and tear.

Pretty crazy! What's also great is how ballin' these jeans are in both pictures. It's a win-win situation! Also noteworthy is that if this dude had been a little shorter or taller or wider or whatever, the fade on these jeans would've been very different. To come to a conclusion, you should always go with raw denim whenever possible for so many different reasons. Yes, let it be known that we here at Old Hollywood, to quote the great ODB, "Like it Raw."
