Discovering and falling in love with a item for your better half is always a challenge, even more so when it comes to jewelry. It needs to not only speak of the ties that bind you together but also of their individual style. As part of an on-going series to give you inspiration for the upcoming holidays we will be featuring one piece a week for the person in your life who deserves that perfect customized gift that they will treasure for years to come. Starting off with a piece from my favorite designer Digby & Iona as with many of Aaron's pieces this too has a wonderful history behind it. The Convict Love Token pays tribute to those made in the 1700's by convicts about to be shipped out to serve an indentured servitude. The tokens were made by filing one side off of a penny and engraving a message to a loved one. This token reads "When This You See Remember Me" a popular sentiment from the era. It measures 1.25" (3.175 cm) available in oxidized bronze on a hand dyed rope 26" (66.04 cm) with or without a custom engraving. This piece is a timeless unisex gift with a wonderfully rich history that is sure to become daily wear.
