We just got in the perfect gift for that kick-ass kid that's got it all. Seriously adorable handmade stuffed animals, puppets, and backpacks from Dwelling. Plus it helps out a good cause, setting a good example like every cool aunt/uncle/dad/etc should.
Made by Kenyan wool gatherers, these cuddly animals are made with all natural dyes and then spun out on bicycle wheels!!! WHAT!
Kenana knitters was formed to help out in an area of Kenya where unemployment runs at a staggering 60-80%, giving income to local families. Starting with a dozen women the group has now grown to over 600 knitters and 700 spinners. Each lady signs her name to the story card that accompanies each handmade piece.
With the money they have raised thus far, Dwelling has opened a health facility on the farm and set up a literacy program, giving the women self-pride.
