New Designer: Lewis Henry Nicholas

We are so proud to present our newest designer British-born Lewis Williams. He studied Jewelry at Central Saint Martins and The London Guildhall, then moved to NYC to work as a Goldsmith for the prestigious Jeweler - Philip Crangi. Lewis now has his own label which is based on quality and heritage. Lewis's grandfathers were interesting gentlemen- Henry was a boxer and Captain in the British Army and Nicholas was a cobbler and as a nod to his past, the names of his grandfathers accompany his, in the jewelry label - Lewis Henry Nicholas. Lewis is primarily influenced by classical antiquity from the Roman era, through the byzantine and Victorian times. He infuses these aesthetics with romantic notions, crafting an ideal from a historic standpoint. His delicate works are beloved treasures and instant keepsakes. From his Brooklyn studio Lewis creates unique hand crafted jewelry, with the majority of his work made from solid sterling silver, his line is also accompanied by custom pieces in gold and precious stones. He carves jewelry in wax and casts it into silver - an ancient process that has remained relatively unchanged over the centuries. Another timeless technique is fabricating the jewelry by hand, which involves hammering, sawing, engraving and soldering the metal into the unique jewelry. As you can imagine I'm already obsessed with this line it combines everything that I look for in a keepsake piece handcrafted, feminine but still a little edge, and historically inspired.
