New Designer: Cullen Meyer

The collection is inspired by antique and vintage caricatures, starting with 19th century inspirations moving through time and ending with more pop art incarnations. Not only do I love old graphics, but was extremely inspired by the caricature exhibition at the MET last year. Some of the earlier inspirations include famous 19th century caricature artist J.J Grandville to images from mimeo graphs  (a short lived telegraph type machine that sent pictures through the air by code in the 1920s). All the prints are original and created by myself, and in keeping with the idea of a caricature, when worn display great color and glimpses of recognizable imagery and when examined closer reveal grotesque dancers, ghouls chasing each other and human-animal hybrids.
